ASUS ZENFONE 3 MAX OFFICIALLY LAUNCHED WITH 4100MAH BATTERY & POWER BANK FUNCTION

ASUS launched a new version of its big battery Max smartphone series in Vietnam – the ASUS ZenFone 3 Max. It packs a4100mAh battery and can serve as a power bank for other devices.

However, its battery capacity is lower than that of the first ASUS ZenFone Max which has a whooping 5000mAh battery. What could be the reason for this decrease?

Take a look at the ASUS ZenFone 3 Max:

The ASUS ZenFone 3 Max flaunts a 5.2 inch display covered in 2.5D arc glass with slightly curved edges. This makes it a fine looking smartphone along with its metallic body.
This is also the reason why it has a slightly lesser battery capacity. The ZenFone Max is a huge phone with a 5.5 inch display while the ZenFone 3 Max has a more manageable size.
It comes in a 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage variant for 4,490,000 Vietnamese Dong. That’s a little under ₱9,500.00!

FACEBOOK UNVEILS OPENCELLULAR THAT PROVIDES 4G LTE AND WI-FI ACCESS IN REMOTE AREAS

Everyboy will love to have this on their community.
Facebook has been pouring efforts to expand the reach of the internet to remote areas of the world. Their newest project isOpenCellular.

It’s a device roughly the size of a shoe box that can provide 2G3G,4G LTE and Wi-Fi networks in a small community. It’s essentially a mini cell site!

Here’s how OpenCellular looks like:

OpenCellular
This small device can do the work of a big cell site!
OpenCellular can be attached to a lamp pole or tree even by a single person. The design is simple enough but can withstand extreme temperatures and typhoons.
To work, it needs to be connected to a power supply and a backhaul network access. The latter means the device itself should be connected to the internet and a cellular network in order to provide connectivity to its users. This can be done through a single wired connection to the nearest area with internet and cellular coverage or wirelessly through drones and satellites.
Nevertheless, it will still function even without a backhaul connection. Users will be able to send and receive text messages and make voice calls with each other, just not with the outside world.
OpenCellular-connectors
OpenCellular has several ports for power, antenna and data connection.
Facebook is still testing OpenCellular in their labs. They were able to send and receive text messages and voice calls.
The company will open source the software of the device as well as its physical design. Hence, different manufacturers can build it all by themselves. Telcos are even welcome to build the device so that they can expand their coverage.
By expanding the reach of the internet to remote areas of the world,Facebook will gain new users. That’s the end game.

SAMSUNG WILL UNVEIL THE GALAXY NOTE7 ON AUGUST 2, 2016

It’s official!

Samsung will skip ‘6’ in its Note series and jump straight to Galaxy Note7 with the launch date set on August 2, 2016.

The company wants its Note series to catch up in numbering with its flagship Galaxy S series. The latest of which are the Galaxy S7 andGalaxy S7 Edge. This will then avoid confusion with people who might think that the Galaxy Note6 is last year’s model.

Once again, the Samsung Galaxy Note7 is poised to be the most powerful smartphone running on Android. It’s rumored to come with 6GB of RAM and the latest processors from either Qualcomm or their own Exynos chips.
It will surely have a large display with enhanced support for S Pen stylus input. This has been the defining feature of the Note series.
There are also leaks suggesting a water resistant body, 12MP main camera, 5MP front camera, 4000mAh battery and dual-edge curved display.
The launch event will happen simultaneously in New York, London and Rio de Janeiro. Filipino fans can watch the livestream on August 2 at 11 pm.

BLACKBERRY STOPS PRODUCTION OF BLACKBERRY CLASSIC WITH PHYSICAL QWERTY KEYBOARD

Sad news for Blackberry users.
Blackberry’s COO and General Manager for Devices Ralph Piniofficially confirmed that the company will no longer manufacture the Blackberry Classic.

It’s one of the most popular phones from the Canadian company with its physical Qwerty keyboard, BB10 operating system and an optical trackpad. However, its sales has been reportedly disappointing. Add to it the decision of the US government not to offer Blackberry devices to officials anymore.

He further said that Blackberry will continue to innovate with Blackberry 10 and Android devices. Rumors have surfaced that the company is developing three new smartphones named NeonArgon, and Mercury.
There will still be support for Blackberry Classic’s software and units that are already in stores will still be sold. No more new units will be released though.
Blackberry once captured the hearts of Filipinos with their smartphones. Hopefully, they can do it again soon.
