FREEDOM 251 – WORLD’S CHEAPEST SMARTPHONE PRICED $4 LAUNCHED IN INDIA

Ringing Bells, a company in India, launched the world’s cheapest smartphone called Freedom 251 with an impressive price tag of merely Rs. 251 which converts to around $4 or ₱170!

It features a 4-inch display, quad core processor1GB of RAM, Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system, 8GB of built in storage, 3.2MP camera and a 1450mAh battery.

Here’s the Freedom 251:

Based on early reviews of the phone, it looks a lot like the iPhone 5from its design, circular home button with metallic ring and icons. This is disturbing since high profile officials of the government of India were present during the launching event and the phone has been touted as ‘Made in India’.
Despite the issue with copyright, the Freedom 251 is still the world’s cheapest smartphone with no other product in sight to replace it anytime soon.
Hopefully, a local brand here in the Philippines can also offer a similar smartphone at a similar price.
